Germany is well known for their dominance in the automotive industry as they are the leading auto producer in Europe since the 1960s. Germany is considered the birthplace of automobile, as motor-car pioneers Karl Benz and Nikolaus Otto independently developed four-stroke internal combustion engines in the late 1870s and then fitted it in a coach thus creating a design which would lead to the modern day automobiles. Germans are also famous for their "big three" which refers to the German trio Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. These companies are famous for their cars as they have a rich history spanning from the early 1900s and their cars make up 86% of the luxury midsize market. Germany is also the leading exporters of automobiles with 23% market shares.  If you want to know more about the history behind theses companies please do refer to our sub-page about it . Verbs in german

Image
Hallo guys, today I would like to tell you guys about verbs in the german language. German is not an easy language to master and to be a fluent speaker would require mastering the verbs. Verbs in German are a bit different to the English language as each verb has an infinitive "to" form. These verbs are what you would find commonly used. For example, in english we say "to play" but in german we wouldn't say "zu spielen" but just "spielen". This is because each verb also has a stem form, the basic part of the verb left after you remove the -en ending. The end part ( e.g. -en, n,) plays a part in how the word would be interpreted. Weird right? Thankfully I've created a guide on how to use verbs in german which you can find here .  I hope all of you guys reading this would have more understanding on the german language by learning about verbs. Do comment in the comment section about verbs ( Also correct me if I'm wrong!!).

The numbers in German also have its own special characteristics. There are a few things that can be a bit confusing, but we'll come to that later. First of all, like the alphabet that I explained it before, the numbers in German has their own special names. And yes, there are some of the numbers does exist in English form, which I can remember it easily. The number from 0 till 12 gives you basic ideas about the pronunciations and also the spelling in German. But starting from number 13 and the number after that, this is where it gets confused.... Starting number 21 is a bit different where you have to write number "1" first, followed by "2. To write the number in words in German, it will sound like this.. "ein"(one) "-und-zwanzig"(20). So it becomes "einundzwanzig". The concept are same to other numbers like 30,40 and etc. For more informations, yo

The Unique-ness of the German Alphabet

Image
I heard lots of people saying that German language is one of the hardest language as compared to other European languages. When I started leaning the language, true to what they say, I admit It was quite tough due to the pronunciation and each of the letters give different sounds and uses. However, the letters in German alphabet are quite similar to English except these four letters  ;   ä, ö, ü   and   ß a nd these extra four letters are not part of the alphabet. Some of the letters stay the same as it is in English, and some aren't. The table on the left shows that letter "R" is pronounced as "air". It is not simply "air" as it is in English pronunciations, but likely you have to pronounce it at the back of the throat, it sounds like "eirgh"!  V in German sounds like "F" in English. For instance, V ater( f ather)//be v or (be f ore) etc. W in German sounds like "V" in English. For example, W agen (car
